Florian Gallenberger’s award-winning film is based on true events and follows the story of Daniel (played by Brühl) and Lena (played by Watson) who get caught up in the Chilean military coup of 1973. When Daniel is taken by General Pinochet’s secret police, Lena tracks him to a seemingly charitable mission in the South of the country called Colonia Dignidad, which is actually a cult run by preacher Paul Schäfer. Despite its reputation as a place from which no one ever escapes, Lena decides to join the cult in order to save Daniel. The film premiere coincides with a visit from Watson and other celebrities to an Oxford college, where they will be dining with students as visiting fellows.
The power of girls was in full display as Emma excitedly raised her right hand and cheered for the cameras.
Everyone was beaming with joy at the event where Brühl, Watson, and Colonia’s director, Florian Gallenberger, were present. Lady Margaret Hall has just revealed a dazzling list of appointments that includes the Pet Shop Boys’ Neil Tennant. The principal of the college, Alan Rusbridger, a former editor-in-chief of the Guardian, declared that the 11 individuals would help students connect with their surroundings. These positions are part-time, and the participants are encouraged to mingle with the students by having meals with them and meeting them informally.
The red carpet was quite a sight with the main actors dressed in black and white providing a striking contrast. In addition to this, they will also be required to participate in an activity that is more structured like a performance, seminar, or debate. Other notable individuals who have been appointed include Malorie Blackman, who was previously the children’s laureate, Francis Habgood, who serves as the chief constable of Thames Valley police, Beeban Kidron, who is a director, Mark Simpson, who is a musician, and Rabinder Singh, who is a high court judge. The purpose of selecting such diverse individuals, according to Mr Rusbridger’s blog, is to create a connection between the academic community and the various professional fields represented by these appointees.
Emma’s latest project centers around the story of Daniel (Brühl) and Lena (Watson), who become involved in the Chilean military coup in 1973, as per IMDB. The college’s governing body created a list of potential visiting fellows, which was later narrowed down by a committee. All but one of the selected individuals accepted the positions. The college welcomes them to stay temporarily if they need a place to work or think. Mr. Cumberbatch earned his BA in drama from Manchester University and his MA in classical acting. Miss Watson has a degree from Brown University in the United States. Mr. Rusbridger stated that although some of the new visiting fellows did not attend university, they bring valuable insights, and the college hopes they cherish their time there. Typically, visiting fellowships are awarded to scholars and academics. However, only one of the eleven new visiting fellows is an academic, Jennifer Rohn, a cell biologist at University College London.
